Promote Sleep With Strength Training
When it comes to good sleep, exercise has a big hand in just how great yours will be. Strength training is one of the best workouts you can do for genuine sleep. Combined with bursts of cardio, and you will really get some zzz’s. So what’s the best strength training workout for sleep?
Sometimes all you need is a really good 20 minute workout to get your heart pumping and your body geared for sleep:
Warm-Up
Four minutes. That’s it. Just a four minute warm-up will get your blood flowing and ready to go hard on strength training moves. You have a few options. For those who go to the gym, you’ll want to walk on a treadmill or go at a medium pace on a cross-trainer.
2 Minute Strength Training Moves
When it comes to getting in your strength training moves, you’ll need a stopwatch. You will want to do each move, as fast as you can for 30 seconds. Then rest 10 seconds. Continue this for 30 second intervals until 2 minutes is up. If you’re in the gym, you can choose to do arms, legs, abs, weights - anything you love to do. Alternatively, these are great moves too:
● Planks
● Pushups
● Squats
● Lunges
● Hip raise lift
1 Minute Cardio Intervals
In between the strength training moves, you’ll want to do bursts of cardio. Time yourself for one minute. If you’re in the gym, jump on a treadmill and run as fast as you can.
Alternatively, these moves are great:
● Jumping jacks
● Football Quick Steps
● Running in place or on a treadmill
● Mountain climbers
