The Best Music To Rock Yourself To Sleep
Mothers have been singing their babies to sleep for centuries and new scientific research is proving those mothers to be so very right. An 8 minute song is now backed by scientists around the world as the most magical way to fall asleep these days. For those of you who like to listen to music when you drive this song should be kept off your playlist. Why?
The 8 minute song called Weightless, written by the UK band Marconi Union, is proven to scientifically rock you to sleep with the dulcet tones that mimic a heartbeat. Many scientists are now calling this song, “the most relaxing song in the world”. Because it’s true! The song has been reported to “slow listeners pulses and put you in a trance”.
Doctors are now telling us that music is a much more natural, more healthy way to fall asleep. Researchers measured heart rate and blood pressure when people listened to the song Weightless.
“According to Dr. David Lewis-Hodgson of Mindlab International, that conducted the research, Weightless produced a greater state of relaxation than any other music tested to date. Listening to this one song, Weightless, resulted in a striking 65 percent reduction in participants and overall anxiety, and a 35 percent reduction in their usual physiological resting rates...the song was actually constructed to do so. The group created the song in collaboration with sound therapists. Its carefully arranged harmonies, rhythms, and bass lines are intended to help slow a listener's heart rate, reduce blood pressure and lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol.”
